We initially got involved with Friends of Bramhall Station group with the initial aim to generally improve the area and make it a safer environment for people visiting the station. Initial work involved cutting back overgrown shrubs to create a more open vista and replanting a banked area on the Bramhall Village side of the Station.

That initial work then led to us working with the Stockport Youth Offenders team to support the work of the Friends of Bramhall Station to improve a second frontage area. Working with a group of young offenders who were tasked with contributing positively to the community, we cleared the second area of overgrown landscaping and also replanted it with a collection of new shrubs.

Our staff worked with both staff and the lads in their care to teach them some of the skills needed to ensure we created a scheme that would look great and stand the test of time.

To ensure that the work of those involved was not wasted, we still maintain the area to ensure the project leaves a lasting legacy. We have extended the area that we maintain and now maintain all the frontage of the Station and have also been given support by GMPTE who have provided additional shrubs to further enhance other areas and a knee rail to stop people riding bicycles over the planted areas.
